Creative mess

See this picture? Look at it close. This little boy is the most amazing person in the world. Yes, it may be that I am biased. However, if you knew him, I know you would think so too. This is our "paint a pumpkin" day. He is outside on our concrete driveway, in a Pull Up and nothing else. Don't worry, it was 85 outside that day lol. I can't tell you how much fun he had painting that pumpkin. Something so simple(pretty cheap too I might add) as a pumpkin and some finger paints thrilled him for a lifetime, it seemed. The whole time as he's painting this pumpkin, he's talking about the colors, and how daddy is "grilling chili" lol. Joe was Smoking a pot of chili but Aiden called it grilling...
He may look pretty clean to you, but he wasn't when he was done lol. The pure joy,it gave us to watch him paint was amazing to us. Who ever thought that entertainment didn't have to cost much lol. OR who would have thought that we would rather watch this little boy paint than watch some tv show. He took great thought into every little detail. You could see the "wheels" working in his little head. Birds would sing and he would laugh. An ant would crawl across the concrete and he would laugh, and then tell it to "shoo, go away ant". He would hear cars in the background honking and yell, "BEEP BEEP" at them. The whole time, never taking his eyes off his project for too long. When he was all done, he was so proud of his pumpkin. We sat it on the front steps for the whole neighborhood to gawk at. Look at what my boy did! Isn't he talented? LOL

Now that it has rained this AM, it looks like Aiden will get to paint his pumpkin all over again lol. He will be thrilled! AND it will give him something to do for hours! He will talk about it for days and then it will rain again.....

What fun! When the boys were little, I used to get these plastic colored "nails" and hammers at the Dollar STore and they would hammer the jewel nails into the pumpkins. They loved it!
